Romans 2:1 "Therefore you are inexcusable O ma, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things."
Have you ever run into someone who was always cornering you and telling you stuff about anyone or a group of people and it was all bad. I ran in to someone like that in another state and he was always cornering my husband. There was something about him that I didn't like and I did not listen to him but my husband was courteous and listened, however I think it went in one ear and out the other but just the same it was awful the things he was saying and it really bothered me and to look at him there was something definitely wrong. After we left the area, someone told me that he was sexually abusing his wife's two boys. So what was he doing, worse than what he was telling but also trying to put the spotlight elsewhere so it wouldn't be on him and he wouldn't be caught. He is probably in prison today, I don't know but that verse in Romans that says, 'for you who judge practice the same things' could also have said, 'and worse things'. Not trying to reword the Bible at all but in this day and age things are so bad it's unbelievable what people will do to cover their own sins.
We must be careful that we aren't covering up the same sins or worse, when we judge others or condemn. When you run into someone who is always finding fault with others, be careful, they are probably putting the spotlight on others so you won't see their sins. What the Bible says is true and so it is wise not to judge others because what we are really doing is telling them what is wrong with us. Wow! That is revealing isn't it?
Here's something else to think about. You run into someone that is a religious fanatic and is always trying to get you to believe their way and any other way is not right. They are covering up too, putting the spotlight on their righteous lives and beliefs so you won't see what they really believe and are doing. I have seen that a lot. So beware that we are not of this kind. If we are careful with who we associate with God will give us perception to see what is really going on in the lives of a gossip or a fanatic and any others who insist that you know all about the wrongs of others, because you can almost always turn the spot light on them and they will be doing the same things they are condemning.
If we pray for these people, there is always hope for their salvation but we do not have to associate with them. AND we do not have to be like them, do we? Be careful what you say, you may be telling others what you are like. God forbid that we do that. Grandma Joan
