How is your Attitude?

Attitude is a choice, we can either choose to look on all the bad things in life or choose to look on all the good things in life.  If we choose to look on all the bad things, it brings anger, bitterness, hate and developes an ugly spirit within us, which in turn causes us illnesses of all kinds, mental, and emotional illnesses and then we get physical illnesses caused by the stress of all the bad emotions.  Oh how we need the attitude of Christ in our life, don't we.  Me included, it is so easy to get hung up on all the bad things that happen to us and forget all the blessings we receive day by day.  It might do us a lot of good to count our blessings each morning when we wake up.  We have had a good nights rest, we wake up again for a new day and so on all through the day.  I would like to share some texts about our attitude with you if you don't mind.

Philippians 2:5-8  "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and and became obedient to death, even the death on a cross."

Philippians 4:11,12  "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content what-ever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

Philippians 4:8  "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things."

Philippians 4:13  "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

We have learned from these verses that our attitude should be like Christ's attitude. We need to humble ourselves  in the sight of the Lord and let Him lift us up.  Contentment is another great attribute and if we think on noble, what is right, pure, lovely, admirable, if any of these things are excellent or praiseworthy, that is what our thoughts should be on.  AND we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  That's where the power is, is in Christ.  Grandma Joan
