Are you a controller?

There are many ways that people control other people, one popular way is anger, getting angry if they don't do what you want them to do or the way they want you to do it.  Another way is pouting or sulking when things don't go their way or you do something they don't like.  Another way is just clamming up and not saying a word, just show your disgust when things don't go your way.  Another way is withholding from them anything that they might consider important for them to have or do.  Another way some people control others is to threaten them and sometimes it's life threatening threats. Do any of these things fit you?  You may have other ways of controlling others, I am sure I didn't name them all, just think about it, are you a controller?

God made us free moral agents to do as we please, it is up to us what we do with our lives, it is our free choice, whatever we do.  It was up to Eve whether she partook of the forbidden fruit or not, it was up to Adam whether he took it from Eve.  Neither one of them were controlled to the point that they had to do it and both of them blamed something else for their fall, Eve blamed the serpent which God made and Adam in turn blamed Eve, whom God made, so the final analysis was they were blaming God.

Satan was the controller in the long run, he controlled Eve by his subtlety and she gave in and Eve controlled Adam by her beauty and his love for her.  God does not control us, He has given us a free choice whether we serve Him or Satan.  Satan tries to control us and it is entirely up to us if he wins or we choose God.

Is someone controlling you in some subtle way? If so, why are you allowing it, you are free to do as you please.  If it is life threatening, get help, if it is other ways, you might  seek counseling.  But we should not be controlled by another.

John 8:36  "Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."  Does that sound like someone should control you?

Galatians 5:1  "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with  a yoke of bondage."  Satan's bondage, or people's bondage.

Personally, I want to be controlled by Christ, but He is not a controller, He will step in if we ask Him and do for us the things we cannot do for ourselves, but it is our choice to ask Him in.  It is a good thing to do and we are never sorry for following His plan for us.

Satan is the controller and if you are a controller, I would seriously think about who's side I am on and why I am doing it.  It is a serious fault and needs remedying.  Ask God to help you to allow others to do as they will and not as you will.  I am thinking, 'am I a controller'?  I easily could be but praying that I am not. How about you?  Grandma Joan
