The Fruit of Love

I can't seem to get off the word LOVE, it seems so important in the Christian's life.  I read a quote from a magazine, that said, and I quote, "Mildness, gentleness, long suffering, not being easily provoked, bearing all things, these are the fruits upon the precious tree of love."  They are also part of the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22,23.

Why did God send His Son to this earth to suffer and die for humanity?  It was because of His Great Love for Humanity.  No other reason.

John 3:16  Everyone knows this verse very well.  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believed in Him might not perish but have everlasting life."  God so loved.  We can't understand such love and we don't know how to portray it either, but God can love the world through us as He did through His Son.  It should be our constant prayer, "fill us with Your Holy Spirit and with Your
love.

Love is powerful, it breaks down walls of separation, it draws people to Christ, it saves marriages, it brings reconciliation, it makes friends with just about anybody, it's a sign of obedience to God, it leads to boldness in sharing His love, it leads to service.  It leads to selflessness, self-sacrifice, it has a gentle, mild spirit, it causes us to be patient in all things.

You can see how important love is in our life, it is not just love as we know it, it is God's love that we need.
When we are filled with the love of God, all these traits of character will blossom in our lives and make us a very fruitful Christian.  Don't you want to blossom out with God's love?   I do, I pray for that all the time, that He will fill me with His Spirit and His love.  We can't go wrong when we do this.  I hope and pray that you will blossom with the love of God filling your heart and spilling out to others.  Grandma Joan
