This is about another change in Peter's life from being ignorant to enlightened. We could learn something from this couldn't we? I am afraid that I have been ignorant way too long. These lessons that God is giving me are showing me my true condition and the remedy for it.
Matthew 16:21,22 "From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many thing from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, 'far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to you." Peter showed just how ignorant he was when he said that. Jesus was trying to prepare them for the crucifixion and burial, but Peter did not want that to happen, and you can't blame him, but still I am sure that he knew from experience that he should trust Christ's word.
Acts 4:13 "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled, and they realized that they had been with Jesus." What a beautiful lesson on education. What things are possible if we spend our time with Jesus. Peter was not bold before or educated and trained until after Pentecost and the Holy Spirit was poured out upon him. So it will be with us if we spend time with Jesus, we can be bold and trained and educated from Him who is willing to pour out His Spirit upon us if we ask in humility.
I am seeing what great things God can do for the most humble person if they are willing to give their life to Him and spend time with Him. Let's be willing to ask and humbly submit our lives to Him so that He can pour out His Spirit upon us so we can have changes in our life like Peter had. I am encouraged, are you?
