Yesterday's study was very encouraging to me and today's will probably even be more encouraging. I don't want to leave anyone regardless of who they are, with the thought that it is a struggle and a hardship to be a Christian and walk the Christian walk. If we are trying to do it on our own, yes, it is more than a struggle and a hardship, but we have powerful help all the way. Let's check it out.
Psalms 107:20 "He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction."
John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."
Romans 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
Jeremiah 15:16 "Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart;"
James 1:18 "Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures."
So let's be encouraged, He sends His word and heals us from our sinful conditions and delivers us from our own destruction. And in His word we will know the truth and it will set us free. And how do we get faith? By hearing the word of God or reading it. When we consume His word as we would food, it will give us joy and rejoicing of our hearts. How did we get to this place in our lives? By His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth.
We must spend time in His word if we would be encouraged in our Christian walk. A few minutes a day to start with and then a little more and more as we learn to love communing with Him each day until we can spend as much time as we have time for or want to spend with Him. I like to claim the promises I'm reading in prayer as I read them. May you be blessed and encouraged as you read His word and spend time with Him. Grandma Joan
