Precious In His Sight

Precious means valuable.  Right now Gold and Silver are valuable but did you know that your faith is more valuable than Gold or Silver?  1 Peter 1:7.

Also a gentle and quiet spirit is very precious in the sight of God.  Have you ever noticed that many times you can tell a Christian by their manner of speaking and their quiet spirit.  It is good to have Christ hidden in our heart, that's what makes a gentle and quiet spirit and a real Christian.

1 Peter 3:3,4  "Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel--rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God."

This next verse will be a hard one to understand for some people but I will try to do it justice, just because of my age, I think I understand it.

Psalms 116:15  "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."  When it comes time to lay down our earthly duties and face death, it is a wonderful thing to know that you are ready and that God considers you very precious in His sight, because He knows that the next thing you know He will be calling you forth from that earthly grave and you will be with Him forever.  So to Him it is a precious thing to know you are sealed for the day of redemption.

Do you understand how precious you are in the sight of the Lord.  I am trying to understand it.  It's hard sometimes when we can't see who we are serving, that's why our faith is so precious to Him, it takes faith to be a real Christian and even faith is a gift of God.

God is faithful 1 Corinthians 1:9  and when He says we are precious to Him, we are precious to Him.  To me this morning, I need to know that I am precious in His sight.  It will make my day a lot better to know this.
I hope it makes your day more blessed to know that you are precious in His sight.  Jesus gave His life for you, that's how precious you are to Him.  That's how precious I am to Him.  A wonderful thought to carry with us all through the day.  May God help us to realize how precious we are to Him.  Grandma Joan
