Promises from the Book of First Thessalonians

Here are the promises that you have been waiting for.  So many people don't believe these next verses but the Bible's promises surround this event.  Check it out.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18  "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of an archangel, and with the trump of God.  And the dead in Christ will rise first then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And thus we shall always be with the Lord.  Therefore comfort one another with these words."
Does that sound like a secret rapture, which is being taught by some churches.  Doesn't sound like anything quiet to me. A shout, a voice of an archangel, and a trumpet?  The promise is that He is coming back to claim His people who have made Him a priority in their lives, I want to be one of those don't you.  I have buried parents, grand baby, daughter, husband and all my relatives are gone and I hope by the grace and love of God that I will see them on that great day.  If they were faithful I know I will see them because I plan to be faithful with God's help which we will see in the next verses.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-24  "Rejoice always.  Pray without ceasing.  In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  Do not quench the Spirit.  Do not despise prophecies.  Test all things; hold fast what is good.  Abstain from every form of evil.  Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He who calls you is faithful who also will do it.  Did you get this last sentence.  "He who calls you is faithful who also will do it."  I pray that God will bless the reading and the studying of His promises so that we might be a partaker of His divine nature.

PS.  I am adding two promises from 2 Thessalonians because it is a little short study and will help fill this one in.

2 Thessalonians 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."

2 Thessalonians 3:16  "Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way.  The Lord be with you all."

The Lord is faithful who will establish you and guard you from evil and give you peace always in every way.  The Lord be with you all.  A good way to end this study today.  More next time.  Grandma Joan.
