Promises from the Book of Titus

These small books are loaded with a few pertinent promises but loaded with instruction which is vital to our faithfulness to Him, and the promises assure us that He will indeed reward us with eternal life.

Titus 2:11-14  "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people zealous for good works."

Titus 3:4-7  "But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

We are saved by grace not of works which we have done is a very important thing for us to know.  He does the work in us, it is not us doing the work in ourselves.  This is one lesson that I had to learn in my walk with Christ.  He is the One who fills us with His Spirit, He is the One that works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure, it is not us or our job to try and obey, He gives us the strength to obey and do His will.  He also puts in our minds what we should do, if we are surrendered to Him.  If we are not surrendered to Him, then the devil can put things in our mind that are evil and cause us great harm.  So lets surrender our hearts to Him and be safe in the things that God wants us to do.  I wish I had known this all my life, what a world of peace, love and victories I would have had.  I just wish I had known.  I found the verses that taught that but didn't understand until a few years ago just what was expected of me.  Such a difference, a world of difference.  Grandma Joan
