Promises from the Book of Hebrews - 3rd study

There is so much in the book of Hebrews, I don't want to overlook anything pertinent to our salvation.  Please bear with me as we go through these next verses.

Hebrews 9:12  "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once and for all, having obtained eternal redemption."  For us.

Hebrews 9:14  "(speaking of the blood of bulls and goats.)  "how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

In Israel's time, it was the command of God to offer living sacrifices for their sins.  Like bulls, goats, pigeons.  The birds were for poor people who couldn't offer up an expensive animal like sheep, bulls and goats.  Then Christ came to change all that by offering His own spotless life to God for our redemption.  How much more costly was this sacrifice than bulls and goats etc!! This is what will cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

Hebrews 12:1,2  "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside ever weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

I can't elaborate on the above verse, it explains itself very clearly, read it over and over if you need to.

Hebrews 13:5  (last part)  "I will never leave you nor forsake you." An excellent promise.

Hebrews 13:20,21  "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.  Amen."

He will make us complete in every good work to do His will, working in us what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.  If we are surrendered to Christ we will do His works that He gives us to do and it will be well pleasing to Him if we honor Him by our obedience.  A very good verse to end our study on Hebrews.  May God bless you through His word.  Grandma Joan
