The book of Revelation is just what it means, a revelation of things to come and is a very important book of the Bible. So let's see what we can learn from the promises in Revelation.
Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near."
There is a blessing for those who read and those who hear the words of Revelation, and also keep the things that are written in it.
Revelation 1:7 "Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen."
Isn't that interesting, every eye will see Him coming and those also who pierced Him and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Every eye will see Him coming in the clouds of heaven and they will mourn because they are lost because they didn't keep His word or even read it and listen to it spoken to them.
Revelation 2:7 "To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."
Revelation 2:10 "Be faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life."
Revelation 2:11 "He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death"
The first death is when we die here on this earth. The second death is the death of the lost when the earth is destroyed by fire and he, who overcomes will not be destroyed by the second death.
Revelation 2:17 "He who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."
Revelation 3:5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels."
This is a good spot to end this lesson, there are lots of promises but the condition is the same, 'he who overcomes'. I pray that we will all overcome and be ready when Jesus comes in the clouds of heaven. We can't do it ourselves but we can surrender so God can do it for us and in us. Our duty is to yield ourselves to Him and allow Him to work in our lives. Grandma Joan
